1. How does hot tub hire work?

Quite simply Rubber Duckies deliver the spa to the required venue, sets it up, chemically treats it and leaves it to heat up 1-2 days before your event. After the event, we return to collect the spa, allowing our customers to concern themselves with nothing more strenuous than enjoying the hot tub experience.

2. Do you supply in our area?

We are located between the cities of Bristol and Bath in the South West of England, and will happily travel within a 50 mile radius of our base. Additionally we also cover Dorset.

3. Do we need to supply water and electric?

Yes. The tubs run on mains electric and are fitted with RCDs for your safety. We supply the tubs with 10 metre extension leads, so assuming there is an internal mains supply within 10 meters of the tub power is not a problem. You will also need to have a water supply. During the winter months we recommend that at least some of the water is taken from your own hot water supply. This is due to the heating up time of water which may be close to freezing when taken from a garden tap for example. If you do not have hot water in your house it is not a problem, but be aware that the tub will take longer to heat.

4. How long does the tub take to heat up and be ready for the event?

Very much dependent on the initial temperature of the water, although in general the water will have reached a very pleasant 36-38oC within 24 hours of being turned on. You will need to ensure that the cover is kept in place when not in use so as to maintain water temperature.

5. Where should the tub be sited?

We would recommend that you site your tub outside on a flat surface free of any sharp objects. We do supply under-tub mats although it is essential that the ground surface is free of any particles that may result in a puncture. Tubs can be installed within your home although you will need to ensure the floor is structurally sound, and that the room is well ventilated. You will also need to bare in mind that the floor is likely to get wet.

6. Can we hire a hot tub in the winter months?

Absolutely. In fact most people agree that the very best time to sit in a spa is when the moon is out, a light frost is on the grass and the stars are shining. With the water generating revitalising steam at 38 degrees Centigrade the only time you feel the cold is when you dash from the tub to the warmth of your home!

7. How many people can the spa seat?

9. Is the water clean?

Yes, our on-site technician will dose the tub on the day of the installation. For hire periods longer than the standard weekend party, he will leave instructions and product with the customer as well as dipping strips so as the water can be tested during the duration of the hire period.

12. What are the health and safety implications and is Rubber Duckies insured?

Rubber Duckies is fully insured, and our on-site technician will leave a “terms of use” document with the hirer. We take health and safety issues very seriously, and if you think that there may be issues with either the power supply or the site of the spa, please contact us prior to our technician arriving, as unsafe conditions will lead to the prevention of installation.
